Susanna is largely a self-taught painter, with the influence of great artists and teachers such as Edward Wesson, John Yardley and many contemporary watercolorists. 'Inspired by nature and landscape, what I am endeavouring to achieve in my paintings is not a photographic copy of the subject, but rather an interpretation in terms of colour, tone and form, whilst at the same time exploiting the beautiful fluid, transparent qualities of watercolour'. I have recently added a certain amount of mixed media.
